Description
This ride is organized by one of your newest ride leaders. I joined BCC to train for the 2026 Police Unity Tour, and this weekend I have been tasked to organize three training rides for our (4) local officers and (5) visiting officers as a 'seat check.'

Obviously, it will be more fun to have some BCC riders join us, as we can benefit from your camaraderie and your wealth of bicycle knowledge.

The Saturday and Sunday rides are open to all club members / general public (no cost / lunch included).

On Saturday, we ride 50 miles, on Sunday we ride 75 miles. On Saturday, we will have snacks and hydration at the Great Salt Lake Marina (we will be covering your $2 marina/bathroom fee), and a light lunch will be provided on the capitol lawn. A tool / sag vehicle will be available. The pace will be open.

Saturday's route begins in front of the West Valley City Police Department (3577 S Market St, West Valley City). The route follows surface streets and roads with bike lanes to Amelia Earnhardt Drive, and out to the Great Salt Lake Marina where we will regroup / break. The route returns east to join the Airport Bike Path through downtown Salt Lake City to the Utah State Capitol (Peace Officer Memorial). There is an OPTIONAL (and very strenuous) climb up Apricot Street to get to the capitol. Most of us will zig-zag a much more comfortable ascent of the capitol hill. From the capitol, the ride returns to West Valley City via sections of the Jordan Valley Trail and some surface streets to avoid sections of the JRT.
