Terrain Ratings
1: Mt. Everest
The hardest climbs you can think of around here! Think of Little Cottonwood Canyon, Big Cottonwood Canyon, or Mt. Nebo as good examples.
2: Mountains
Most of the canyons and passes in Utah. Millcreek Canyon, Emigration Canyon, and City Creek Canyon are good examples.
3: Hilly
The benches or foothills. Think of routes that start in the valley and climb up to and along Wasatch Blvd.
4: Mild Hills
The rollers and grades that occur in the valleys. Good examples are short but fairly steep hills such as Winchester Hill at 1300 W. and Temple Hill on 4000 W. Rides typically have 1000 feet or less in total vertical gain. Most of our rides fall into this category.
5: Flat
The valley floors, bike paths, social series rides.
