I'm getting reports that the upper section of Old Snowbasin Rd may still be impassable. Not to worry, we can turn back at Art Nord overlook and get a wonderful view and the same VFT. The category 3 climb up Trapper's starts immediately from the Mt Green Old Farm Market (5150 W Old Hwy Rd, Morgan, UT 84050). Regroup at the top and enjoy a 6 mile -8% descent into Ogden Valley. Be cautiuos when turning Left at the stop sign and when turning Left again onto Old Snowbasin Rd (just before St Florence Catholic Church). Old Snowbasin Rd is a category 2 climb. The upper half of Old Snowbasin Rd is closed to cars and the pavement is in disrepair. It's absolutely climbable but requires mindfulness. Water is available at the Snowbasin Main Lodge. The return via the new Snowbasin access road has ups and downs to Trapper's Loop Rd. The final descent is your -7% 6 mile reward for 3695 VFT!
