This is a route where the meat of it is just snaking the Avenues... go down C St., up D St., down E St., up F St. Intermittent steep climbing. I calculated the six longer climb segments as totaling 4.2 miles @ 8.4%. It is a chance to get in some stout climbing before the high canyons open up. I designated the pace as "A-B" not because anyone will really go that fast but just to reflect that this is a pretty hard effort. It will be a no-drop ride with us regathering at the bottom (1st Ave) of each big climb. So if you're worried about pooping out on one of the ups, don't fret... you will always have the option to turn off early (like onto 8th Ave, or 6th Ave, or whatever) and descend back to 1st Ave and wait there for the rest of the people to get there. I think it's safer to have people spread out on the descents rather than in a pack anyway, to be honest. Star Wars references will not be allowed on this ride.
