A couple of climbs but the view is fantastic. It can be made much easier by riding out to the start of the loop road at 10.1 miles turning around and riding back the same way you came for 21 miles. The ride has two big climbs, First climb is 3 mi. with average grade of 6.2% and a max. of 11.6%. Then a Rest Stop at Artist's Palette mile 14.5. Second climb is 1 mi. with average grade of 7.1% and a max. of 15%. NOTE: After the turn at 10.1 miles the climb starts and the road is narrow and "one way", you should not begin this climb unless you are committed to making it all the way.
