This post is the first half of a two-part Climb Series ride starting at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon and going up to Guardsman Pass. You are not obligated to ride the second part going down to Midway and coming back up to Guardsman Pass via Pine Canyon Road, but those who do ride the second part, will be given a second Climb Series credit in addition to doing this first part. Riders that are considering the second part of this dual Climb Series Ride, please take note of the second post showing that portion of the ride and the steep gradients of Pine Canyon Road (both for the decent and later ascent). All riders please be mindful of your decent from Guardsman Pass to Big Cottonwood Canyon Rd, navigating sharp turns, as well as Big Cottonwood Canyon itself.
