This scenic backway provides great views over the Great Salt Lake. From the Bountiful BST the fire road to Farmington Canyon is relatively flat. At mile 9 there's the option to turn around and make it a flat 18 miles or climb the next 11 miles of steep pitch and 4250' elevation gain to Francis Peak Station. The road over the top and down to the Bountiful B is also steep, rough wash-board. Take your time. Plan to pack 3 bottles or a 100+ oz hydration pak. Also expect to share the road with some vehicles since its opened to cars in summer and fall.
