Reporting Responsibility

This Whistleblower Policy is intended to encourage and enable members and others to raise serious concerns internally so that the Bonneville Cycling Club can address and correct inappropriate conduct and actions. It is the responsibility of all board directors, officers, members and volunteers to report concerns about violations of the BCC’s code of ethics or suspected violations of law or regulations that govern the BCC’s operations.

It is the intention of the BCC, that all members, elected Board, and committee members conduct themselves in a manner that is in compliance with the Club’s BCC Conflict of Interest Statement and Policy. In addition all parties are bound to resolve conflicts and pursue discussions in a non-threatening manner without discrimination of any form.

Reporting Procedure

Bonneville Cycling Club has an open door policy and suggests that members share their questions, concerns, suggestions or complaints with the board of directors. If there are suspicious activities, where these policies or guidelines may have been breached, any member can disclose the alleged incident to a member of the Board through confidential means without fear of retribution.

Examples of notification can be verbal, written on paper in a sealed envelope, or the best option which is to go to www.bccutah.org click on the Home button, then Contact, then Contact again, type the incident on the “Comments” field. You can enter your name, your phone number or type 999-999-9999, and you can enter your email. Then type displayed in the code in the field provided, and hit submit.

No Retaliation

This Whistleblower Policy is intended to encourage and enable directors, volunteers, and members to raise concerns within the Bonneville Cycling Club for investigation and appropriate action.

With this goal in mind, no director or member who, in good faith, reports a concern shall be subject to retaliation. Moreover, a director who retaliates against someone who has reported a concern in good faith is subject to discipline up to and including dismissal from the volunteer position.

Every complaint will be assigned to a committee designated by the Board, for investigation.
