De-stress in this after work road ride up scenic City Creek Canyon. Our itinerary is to ride this popular narrow twisting canyon road to the upper Rotary Park Pavilion (Area #30), a climb of 1300 feet over approximately 7 miles. Spinning up City Creek Canyon presents a good workout, and when ridden in repeats, is a terrific way to build cycling stamina in a very pretty setting without leaving the City; and thus, riders are welcome to ascent the canyon as many times as daylight allows. Whether cycled once or multiple times, we’ll regroup at the end of the pavement in the pavilion to socialize before we ride back to our vehicles. Packing a wind-shell for the descent is wise this time of year. Meet Elliott in the upper parking lot located behind the Utah state capitol building at 6:00pm. Trailhead Directions: Drive north on State Street to 300 North which is immediately in front of the state capitol building (where the road “T’s”), and turn right. Follow this road around approximately one-half mile to the upper most parking lot located behind the capitol building.
Meet at: Upper parking lot behind State Capitol building.
